We're evolving! We want to make you aware of the exciting changes happening in biomedical engineering at the University Of Minnesota.
The ever-expanding opportunities for a wide variety of engineering disciplines in medicine , along with the University's growing commitment to supporting high level collaborative research, has made it attractive to establish the Institute for Engineering in Medicine (IEM). This new institute will replace the Biomedical Engineering Institute. The IEM will take on the mission of the BMEI in fostering interdisciplinary research among faculty in the health science and engineering fields, as well as developing mechanisms to engage these groups toward success.
Our new Institute for Engineering in Medicine (IEM) will be under the direction of current BMEI Director Jeffrey McCullough, M.D., who will report to both Medical School Dean Deborah Powell, M.D., and Institute of Technology Dean Steven Crouch, Ph.D.
Thank you for your patience as we reconstruct this website to keep you updated on these exciting changes!
